FOR THE DAILY SOUTHERNER
Members of the congregation of Tarboro Church of God will dedicate their new church building, located on West St. James Street, at 5 p.m. Saturday.
The new sanctuary is the first phase of the church’s planned building program.
The church has grown from cottage prayer meetings in the late 1920s to the new sanctuary, which seats 350-400 persons.
The public is invited to celebrate with Pastor and Mrs. Sammy Wood and the congregation in the dedication service, which will be officiated by Dr. O. Wayne Brewer, administrative bishop of Eastern North Carolina Churches of God.
