Four suspects charged with 19 counts

TARBORO — Three teenagers and a 21-year-old from the Brentwood neighborhood in Tarboro were recently arrested for a string of break-ins that took place in Princeville and just outside of Tarboro, according to a press release issued by the Edgecombe County Sheriff's Office.

The charges stem after the suspects allegedly broke into a home and attempted to break into another one on Jan. 26, in Halifax County. Only this time, the suspects were spotted by a resident, who contacted law enforcement in Halifax County.

According to the press release, a Be-On-the-Lookout (BOLO) with the make and model of the vehicle was issued from Halifax County for the four suspects.

An Edgecombe County Sheriff's deputy spotted the suspects and pulled them over and detained them for Halifax County.

"The deputies did a good job in apprehending the suspects after receiving the information from Halifax County," Sheriff James Knight said. "That was a good job following up with the other agency."

During a search of the vehicle, authorities found guns and other property that were allegedly stolen from the Halifax County break-in and also property from the Princeville and Tarboro areas five break-ins. The suspects were also in possession of a pistol that had been reported stolen.
