Tarboro police made a quick response to Walmart Thursday afternoon and evacuated the building as they helped search for a reported bomb.
Tarboro 911 dispatchers received a frantic call from a Walmart employee around 4:30 p.m. The caller told the 911 dispatcher that they had just received a call and were told that there was a bomb inside the 110 River Oaks Dr. building.
Police, Tarboro Fire Department, EMS and Edgecombe County Sheriff's deputies responded to the scene. Fire and EMS staged across the street at Bojangles as law enforcement walked through the building to help search for any type of explosive devices.
