Abigail Wolfe Lee and The Reverend Stephen Lee Mazingo were married at 5:30 in the evening on Saturday, January 21, 2012 at Calvary Parish in Tarboro.
The Right Reverend Clifton Daniel III of Greenville, NC, The Reverend Ron Abrams of Wilmington, NC, and the Reverend/Deacon Velinda Hardy of Tarboro, officiated the ceremony.
The bride is the daughter of Dr. and Mrs. David Wayne Lee of Tarboro. She is the granddaughter of Isabel A Wolfe and the late John Frederick Wolfe of Hampstead, NC and Hazel H. Lee and the late James Vivian Lee of Wilmington, NC.
The groom is the son of Ms. Carol Cossette and Mr. Dickie Jones of Wallace, NC and Dr. and Mrs. Stephen Mazingo of Snow Hill, NC. He is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Morris Cossette of Moorhead, MN and the late Mr. and Mrs. Larry Lee Mazingo of Richlands, NC.
The bride was given in marriage by her parents.
The bride wore an ivory Pronovias Adela style mermaid gown, embellished in embroidered lace with a scalloped train and a sweetheart neckline with cap sleeves.
Jennifer Upshaw Reynolds of Nashville, TN served as matron of honor. The bridesmaids were Jessica Cleland Lee of Nashville, TN, Allen Jordan Lee of Alexandria, VA, Kathryn Cook Podgorny of Park Ridge, IL, Jennifer Cook Villacis of Chicago, IL, Carey Allyn Hudson of Snow Hill, NC and Margaret Ann Benton Marsh of Marietta, GA.
The Reverend Mark McKay Powell of Wilmington, NC served as the groom’s best man. His groomsmen were Matthew Ryder Lee of Nashville, TN, Caleb James Lee of Alexandria, VA, Joseph Frederick Lee of Greensboro, NC, Robert Craig Hudson of Wilmington, NC, Shade Aldridge Mazingo of Snow Hill, NC, and Christopher William Peterson of Asheville, NC.
Readers were Robert Mark Bratcher of Wilmington, NC and William Franklin Thorne, III of Wilmington, NC.
John Britt, Jr. of Tarboro, served as Crucifer. Cousins of the bride, Christopher James Wolfe and Samuel Inman Wolfe of Hampstead, NC, served as torchbearers.
Ambrose Lloyd Owens, organist and choirmaster of Calvary Parish, violinist, Rachel Harmatuk of New Bern, NC and the choir of Calvary Parish provided music for the ceremony.
The bride is a graduate of Rocky Mount Academy and The University of the South, in Sewanee, TN. She received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree from Duke University. She is currently an oncology nurse at Duke University Hospital.
The groom is a graduate of Richlands High School, and Appalachian State University. He received his Masters of Divinity degree from Virginia Theological Seminary in Alexandria, VA. He is currently assistant rector at St. James Episcopal Church in Wilmington, NC.
A rehearsal dinner was hosted by the groom’s parents at the Main Street Inn in Tarboro.
Following the wedding ceremony, a reception was hosted by the bride’s parents at the Thomas S. Fleming Building in Tarboro.
After a honeymoon in Hawaii, the couple will reside in Wilmington, NC.
