Sara Dew to open at the fair

Tarboro's Sara Dew will be opening for Lady Antebellum and Heidi Newfield at the North Carolina State Fair in Raleigh on Oct 19.

The 16-year-old daughter of John and Terri Dew opened for Josh Turner at the State Fair in 2007.

The trio Lady Antebellum has already earned “Top New Group” honors at the 2008 Academy of Country Music Awards.

The group's first single, “Love Don’t Live Here Anymore,” soared up the country radio charts.

Heidi Newfield was with Trick Pony from 1996-2006 and then went solo. Her current single "Johnny & June" is at the 24th position on the country music charts.

This weekend, Sara will be at the Edna Boykin Cultural Center in Wilson 7 p.m. Saturday as part of a Country Music and Gospel Show. Tickets are $10.
