The Tarboro Lady Vikings used a 37-5 run between the second and third quarters Friday night to dismantle the Rocky Mount Prep Lady Jaguars 72-26 in Two Rivers Conference action.
Tarboro (9-3, 2-0) controlled the game from the outset and every player on the team scored at least two points. Nyasha Savage led the way with a team-high 15 points in limited action, while Courtney Perkins added 12 points off the bench and Jazmine White and A'Jah Williams both chipped in eight points apiece. White was big on the boards. She grabbed nine rebounds and scored on three of her four baskets on second chance shots.
"I was pleased with the win, but we still have some things we need to work on," Tarboro coach Jamie Willoughby said. "I was glad to see us finally make some of our lay-ups, but we are still missing too many. I was also glad to see us score in transition like we did."
