North Edgecombe prolific shooting guard next level of play may begin at UNC-Pembroke.
K.J. Cooper signed a national letter of intent to play at the North Carolina university on Monday.
Cooper set the Warriors’ all-time leading scoring record with 1,644 points. Cooper, who started as a freshmen averaged 15.9 points, five rebounds, almost four assists during his high school career. He was selected as all-conference three consecutive years.
He also led the Warriors to the NCHSAA 1A state playoffs championship game in 2007 and in the third round of the playoffs in March.
