Ryan Jackson, manager of The Waffle House in Tarboro said he will be making a lot of coffee on Saturday, during Gospel Fellowship Church’s Car Wash from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Waffle House in Tarboro.
“We will be giving free coffee to everyone who comes to the car wash on Saturday,” said Jackson. “That way, you can sit back and have a cup of coffee while you wait.”
Members of the Gospel Fellowship Church’s youth group, as well as several Sunday School and Vacation Bible School teachers, will be earning money to take kids that attend Vacation Bible School this summer on a camping trip to Green Acres near Williamston.
“Our Senior Pastor, Bill Whitley and his wife Sara will be out there as well,” said Youth Director Vanessa Vick, “and Pastor Whitley’s brother, Ben Whitley, will be out there playing his saxaphone while we wash cars.
“We’re going to have some music to wash cars with.”
Vick said that the car wash will cover the entire exterior of the car.
“We will do the outside, windows and tires,” said Vick. “Everything except the interior.”
Vick said that the car wash is free and will be based on donations.
Vick added that the church is grateful to Jackson for allowing the church to hold the event at the Waffle House.
“I have to give a lot of credit to Ryan,” said Vick. “He’s donating his time and water to us to use for the car wash and is giving away free coffee to everyone.
“We are really grateful for his help.”
Jackson, who took over the Tarboro location several months ago, said that he’s more than happy to help out.
“We are happy to help out anyone in the community,” said Jackson. “We want to be a part of the community.”
