ROCKY MOUNT — Elsie May Walston Temple, 89, a resident of Golden LivingCenter, formerly of Bailey, went to be with her Lord on Friday, Feb. 1, 2013.  Funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday, Feb. 4, 2013 at First FWB Church, 4865 Nash Street NW, Wilson.  Interment will follow in Bailey Town Cemetery.  Pastor John Melancon and Pastor Wayne King will officiate.

The family will receive friends from noon until 1:45 p.m. prior to the service at the church and other times at 3111 Edinburgh Drive NW.

Elsie was a wonderful mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.  She was loved by all who knew her and will be missed every day. She was a member of the First FWB Church of Wilson since the early 1950’s.  She worked at the Wilson Memorial Coffee Shop for 25 years, where she was known affectionately known as “Miss Elsie”.

Elsie is survived by her daughters, Peggy Temple Stott of Knightdale, Eleanor Sullivan DePew and husband, Charlie of Wilson, Faye Temple David of Winter Park, Fla., and Pam Temple Melancon and husband, Pastor John of Pinetops; her sons, John Michael Temple of Bailey, and Levie Daniel Temple and wife, Penny of Middlesex; 15 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Levie Greene Temple and her parents, Pink Walston and Mattie Elizabeth McKeel Walston.
