TARBORO — Mamie Lois Faucette Hussey, 88, died peacefully at her home surrounded by family on Thursday, January 4, 2013.
Mamie was born on December 1, 1924 to Johnnie Rufus Faucette and Mamie Bone Faucette. She was predeceased by her husband, Charles E. Hussey and survived by sisters Francis Faucette Crofton of Williamston, N.C. and Nancy Faucette Harrell and husband Thomas, of Colerain, N.C.; three children, Susan H. MacDonald and husband James (Buff) B. MacDonald III of Alexandria, Va., Charles E. Hussey Jr. and wife Dorothy B. Hussey of Salt Lake City, Utah, and Nancy John Hussey of Pinehurst, N.C., and two grandchildren, Charles E. Hussey III and James (Mac) B. MacDonald IV.
Mamie enjoyed life to the fullest and approached her recent health conditions with strength, courage and determination. She especially loved being physically active and enjoyed golf, dance and aerobics. She was also a very devoted mother and dearly loved her family.
Burial will be held at 1:15 p.m., Friday, January 11 at Greenwood Cemetery, followed by a memorial service at 2 p.m. at Howard Memorial Church in Tarboro with the Reverend Mark Diehl officiating.
The family wishes to thank Mamie’s caregivers, relatives and neighbors for their tender and loving care.
