TARBORO — Al Wilhite, of Tarboro, died at home on Saturday, March 23, 2013 after a struggle with lung cancer.  He is survived by his wife, Kathi; children, Brian Wilhite and Kasey Miklik and wife, Amanda; sister, Janet O’Donnell and husband, Jim; nephew, David O’Donnell and family; niece, Laura Baker and family; and his loyal companion, Jake

Al was born in New Albany, Ind. on Feb. 17, 1952 to Noel and Corinthia Wilhite. He had a lifelong love of movies, comic books, and college basketball. Al worked for Keihin Corporation for more than 18 years in both North Carolina (KCST) and Indiana (IPT).

A visitation in celebration of Al’s life will take place from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Wednesday, March 27 at Saint Anne’s Chapel and Event Center at the corner of Howard Avenue and McNair Road in Tarboro, NC (1/8th mile north of Hwy 64 at Exit No. 484). A memorial service will also be held in Indianapolis, Ind. Arrangements are pending.

In lieu of flowers or gifts, Al wished to be remembered by a donation to the Edgecombe County Animal Shelter or the Humane Society of the United States.
