TARBORO — Susan "Sue" Webb Guess, 56, passed away suddenly at her home on Sunday, April 28, 2013.

Sue was born in Nash County on Feb. 21, 1957 to the late Melvin Thomas Webb and Maxine Benton Webb. She worked as an administrative assistant in the N.C. Department of Revenue as well as the attorney general's office. Sue retired after 27 years of faithful and dedicated service to the state. Sue was a faithful member of Wendell United Methodist Church and was very involved in their music program.

A celebration of Susan's life will be held at noon Thursday, May 2, 2012 at Wendell United Methodist Church, 129 N. Main Street, Wendell, with Dr. Richard Stone officiating.

The family will receive relatives and friends prior to the service from 11 a.m. to noon at the church.

Susan is survived by her son, Jacob Newton Guess and fiance, Holly, of Raleigh; husband, Ronald Lynn Guess of Wake Forest; granddaughter, Kennedy Jade Guess; brother, Mike Webb, Wake Forest; sister, Beth W. Cummings, Pinetops.

In addition to her parents, Sue was proceeded in death by a son, Roger Mattox Guess.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Wendell United Methodist Church Music Ministry, 129 N. Main St., Wendell, N.C.
