Peggy Elizabeth Roberson Anderson, 76, of Tarboro, died Wednesday, November 27, 2013.
Peggy was born March 28, 1937, the only child of Jesse Samuel Roberson and Emma Elizabeth Matthews Roberson. She attended both Women’s College of the University of North Carolina and Duke University. She treasured her role as a wife, mother, and grandmother. Among the many things she loved about her life, was raising her family in the countryside of Edgecombe County, the beaches of Nags Head, southern cooking, and a good book. She loved women’s clothing, and could be trusted to have a new outfit for any occasion, whether it be formal, informal, a football game, or the opening day of quail season.
Peggy was predeceased by her parents, her husband, Joseph Leonard Anderson, and a grandson, Joseph George Anderson. She is survived by her sons, Lyn Anderson, and his wife, Anna, of Raleigh; and Sammy Anderson, and his wife, Louise, of Tarboro; her grandchildren, Beth Moody, and her husband, Neal, and Daniel Anderson, and his wife, Amanda, of Raleigh, and Matt Anderson of Tarboro. She had a special place in her heart for her caregiver and best friend, Debbie Lassiter.
The family will celebrate her life at a graveside service on Saturday, November 30, 2013 at 11:00 am in Greenwood Cemetery, officiated by The Reverend Jane Rogers Wilson. The family will receive visitors at the home, 901 Main Street, Tarboro, NC 27886.
