ROCKY MOUNT — ROCKY MOUNT — Robbie Lane Dew, 51, passed away on Thursday, May 2, 2013. Funeral Services will be held 11 a.m. Monday at Carlisle Funeral Home in Tarboro with the Rev. Harry Fowler officiating. Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery. The family will received friends at Carlisle Funeral Home on Sunday.

Robbie was preceded in death by his father Lee Dew, Jr and a brother Rickie Lane Dew.  

He is survived by a loving family including his wife of 25 years Teresa Dew of Rocky Mount; son Travis Turner of Rocky Mount; mother Virginia Dew of Rocky Mount; sisters, Sharon Outlaw and husband Wayne of Rocky Mount, Brenda Measamer and husband Bill of Raleigh, and Buffie Rodri and husband Christy of Raleigh; brothers Spencer Dew and wife Vickie of Rocky Mount, and Johnny Dew of Bunn. 

Robbie was a wonderful man with a heart of gold. He leaves behind many friends and a family that loves and will miss him dearly. After graduating from Northern Nash Senior High, Robbie joined the Army and was stationed at Ft. Irwin, California where he gained great experience and skills in various areas of mechanics and machining. Robbie leveraged those skills in the private sector, most recently serving as a project supervisor for the last 11 years at Sara Lee/Hillshire Farms in Tarboro, N.C. He was consistently praised by his management as one of the most hard working and dedicated employees that a plant could ask for, as evidenced by many commendations over the years.

Robbie loved car racing, hunting, working in his garden, riding his tractor, and his dog Jack. Everyone who knew Robbie would agree that he’d give the shirt off his back to help out a friend in need
