TARBORO — James “Red” Stanley, 73, died Saturday, Jan. 26, 2013. Graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday in Edgecombe Memorial Park with the Rev. Stanley E. Buck officiating.

Red coached Little League Baseball in Tarboro for many years, enjoyed all sports and was avid fisherman.

He retired from the Town of Tarboro after many years of service.

He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Madeline Stanley; a daughter, Charlene Davis and husband, Robert, of Hobgood; a son, James Edward Stanley, II of Wilmington; step-sons, Aaron Wombles, Newport News, Va., Scott Wombles and wife, Ida, of Dallas, N.C. and Bobby Eugene Wombles, Newport News; four grandchildren: Madison Stanley, Lawson Davis Madelyn Davis and Emma Kate Davis and two sisters, Madeline Jones, Tarboro and Patricia Everette, Rocky Mount.

The family will receive friends from 7- 9 p.m. tonight at Carlisle Funeral Home.
