TARBORO — Curtis Edward Tucker, 73, passed away on Sunday, June 16, 2013. Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at Hobgood Pentecostal Holiness Church with the Rev. Raymond Whitehurst and Rev. Dempsey Winstead officiating. Entombment will follow in Edgecombe Memorial Park.
Curtis was manager of the Handy Mart in Princeville for 30 years.
He is survived by a loving family including his wife of 40 years, Jessie Mae Keel Tucker; daughters, Delois Ann Staton and husband, Carlton, of Tarboro, Dorothy Lee Shepard and husband, Stan, of Liberty, Mo. and JoAnn Lawson and husband, Kermit, of Tarboro; sons: Ralph Elks and wife, Marcia of Gulf Breeze, Fla., Edward Elks of the home and Timothy Wayne Elks of the home; sister, Margie Powell and husband, Allen, of Greenville; brother, Calvin Tucker and wife, Christine, of Emerald Isle, 12 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 7-8:30 p.m. Wednesday at Carlisle Funeral Home.
