YARDLEY, Pa. —
YARDLEY, Pa. — Nelson Logan Runger, Jr. died Sunday, April 7, 2013 at his home in Yardley, Pa. He was 81. He is survived by his wife, Peggy White Madry Runger of Yardley, formally of Scotland Neck, N.C.; his son, Logan Runger III of Brentwood, Tenn.; his granddaughter Caitlyn Rose Runger, also of Brentwood; his sister, Leslie Runger Johnson of Ann Arbor, Mich.; and his goddaughter, Elizabeth Madry Miller of Tarboro.
Mr. Runger was born Sept. 1, 1931, in Mount Lebanon, Pittsburg, Pa. He was a 1953 cum laude graduate of Princeton University with a Batchelor of Arts degree in English. After retiring from a full career with New Jersey Bell Telephone, where he worked primarily as a Public Relations executive, he read extensively for Recorded Books and other recording studios. He held the prestigious Audie Award for his rendition of David McCullough's unabridged version of "JOHN ADAMS." He was a Rotary International Paul Harris Fellow.
A memorial service will be held on May 11, 2013 in Yardley, Pa.
