Tarboro — Emma Louise Hyde Simpson, 93, went home to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on Sunday, Oct. 13, 2013.
Funeral services will be held t 2 p.m. Thursday 2 at the Acorn Hill Baptist Church with the Rev. James Rawls officiating. Burial will follow in Edgecombe Memorial Park.
Mrs. Simpson was preceded in death by her husband of 73 years, Lane B. Simpson, Sr., a daughter, Sally Rose Baker, a grandson, Lane B. Simpson, III and a granddaughter, Sara Louise Holloman.
She is survived by a loving family including three daughters: Mary S. Johnson and husband Sam of Hobgood, Estelle S. Jones and husband James of Tarboro and Wanda S. Holloman and husband Bobby of Tarboro; three sons: Sonny Simpson and wife Sylvia of Tarboro, Robert Daniel Simpson and wife Donna of Albemarle and Tom Simpson and wife Beverly of Tarboro; a sister; Artie Hamm, of Rocky Mount; a brother; R. P. Hyde of Fayetteville; 15 grandchildren, 32 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 7 p.m. until 9 p.m. Wednesday at Carlisle Funeral Home and other times at 286 Acorn Hill Road each day from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m.
