TARBORO — MACCLESFIELD — Donald Ray Morris, 66 was called home on Thursday, Jan. 24, 2013.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Virgina M. Ellis, father, Samuel Madison Morris, step-fathers, Lyman Earl Everette and Dow Ellis and brother, Charles Madison Morris. He was a loving husband, father, brother, son and a wonderful friend. Don treasured all of his relationships and will be missed dearly by those he loved so much. He leaves behind to cherish his memory a wonderful family.

He is survived by his devoted wife of 44 years, Jean of the home; children, Jamey Morris Fulghum (Richard) of Wilson, and Donald Morris, Jr.(Kim) of Wendell. He also leaves behind seven precious grandchildren: Kevin, James, Raegan, Kimball, Noah, Lukas, and Emerson (Emmi); a sister, Shirley M. Whitehurst (William) of Tarboro and a brother, Samuel L. Morris (Anna) of Tarboro. He also leaves behind many nieces, nephews and cousins that he loved as well.

The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you for the many prayers and support received during his most recent illness.

Funeral services were held Sunday, Jan. 27 at Webbs Chapel Baptist Church in Macclesfield with graveside services immediately following at Macclesfield Cemetery.
