ROCKY MOUNT — ROCKY MOUNT — William Linwood Coker, Jr. “Mose”, 76, of Rocky Mount passed away Sunday, May 5, 2013 at his home with his family by his side. Mose was born Sept. 5, 1936 to William Linwood and Ida Coker, Sr. of Edgecombe County, N.C.

A celebration of life will be held at 3 p.m. Wednesday, May 8, 2013 at Carlisle Funeral Home with the Rev. Haywood Smith officiating. Burial will follow in Edgecombe Memorial Park.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Bennett Coker, and sisters, Remona Alford and Jean Smith.

He leaves behind to cherish his memory his wife, Colleen Herman Coker; son, William Linwood Coker III and wife, Brandy, and grand-cat Simba, of Spring Lake, N.C.; sister, Faye Batts of Raleigh and husband Howard; extended family, brothers and sister-in-laws, Ben and Pat Herman of Fairfield, N.C., James and Joyce Herman of Lillian Ala.; niece, Becky Best and her husband Denny of Tarboro; nephew, Randy Davis of Newport; special great-niece and nephew, Amy Wood and Nelson Best of Tarboro, also great-great nephews, Thomas, Parker and Will Crane all of Tarboro.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the McConnell-RAAP Hope Lodge House, 930-A Wellness Drive, Greenville, NC 27834.
