BRAD STILES CARSON

RALEIGH — RALEIGH — Brad Stiles Carson, 53, passed Wednesday, June 19th at his home in Raleigh, North Carolina. He was surrounded by his wife, Martha Parks Carson, and family.

Brad was born in Bryn Mawr, Pa. and was a native of Williamsport, Pa. Graduating from  Williamsport High School in 1977, he relocated to Raleigh.  He took a job in 1986 at East Carolina University in Greenville, where he met his wife. Brad and Martha returned to Raleigh, where Brad eventually became manager of mainframe technology at LabCorp. Brad was an active member of the professional organizations Sparta and SHARE.  

He is predeceased by his mother, Nancy Stiles Carson of Greenville, his brother, Craig David Carson, and his mother-in-law, Eleanor Hyman Parks of Tarboro, NC. He is survived by his wife, Martha Parks Carson; his father, William David Carson of Greenville and father-in-law, Seward Parks of Tarboro, along with his brothers Mark Carson and friend Lisa Johnston, Chad Carson and his wife, Karen; sisters Penny Bartruff and her husband, Ed, Pamela Aguilar and her husband David; sister-in-law Laura Parks Harris, nieces Sarah Larsen, Christine Bartruff, and Lilley Carson and nephew Aaron Carson.

A memorial service will be held at 2:30 p.m. Saturday June 22, 2013 at Carlisle Funeral Home.

The family will receive friends from 1-2:30 p.m. at Carlisle Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to cancer research at Caring for Carcinoid Foundation, 198 Tremont St., Box 456, Boston, Mass. 02116 or at their website caringforcarcinoid.org as a memorial to Brad Stiles Carson.  The family would like to express their appreciation to the staff of Duke Hospice for all of their help and support over the past few weeks.
