TARBORO — TARBORO — Mary Bunch Flanagan, 80, passed away Tuesday, December 31, 2013.

A memorial service will be held at 7:30 p.m., Friday, January 3 at Carlisle Funeral Home in Tarboro with the Rev. Stanley Buck officiating.

Mary faithfully served as a Parking Enforcement Officer for the Tarboro Police Department.

In addition, Mrs. Flanagan was very active in the Woodmen of the World, Lions Club, and volunteering at Vidant Edgecombe Hospital in Tarboro.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Thurman “Buck” Flanagan, and an infant daughter.

She leaves behind to cherish her memory a loving family, which includes her daughters, Linda Ellis, and husband, Randy, of Wilson; Kathy Ruffin, and husband, Timmy, of Hobgood and Donna Harrelson, and husband, Tony, of Hobgood; brother, Tony Bunch, and wife, Patricia, of Atlantic Beach; grandchildren, Amy Smith, of Wilson;

Kevin Ellis, of California; Amanda Ruffin, of Durham; Jason Ruffin, of Hobgood and Brittany Harrelson, of Hobgood and great-grandchildren, Heather, Brandon, and Ashley Smith, of Wilson.

The family will receive friends and relatives at Carlisle Funeral Home on Friday, January 3, from 6:00-7:30 pm.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Mary’s memory to Vidant Edgecombe Volunteer Services, 111 Hospital Dr., Tarboro, NC 27886.
