Two suspects arrested on drug charges

TARBORO — In a joint effort last week between the Edgecombe County Sheriff's Office and the Tarboro Police Department, two suspected pill pushers were arrested.

Officers stopped a vehicle near River Oaks Drive and conducted a search, discovering 28 dosage units of Oxycodone and a gram of marijuana.

Officers arrested 21-year old Daniell Shawn Thomas, of 3924 Eugene James Road and 26-year old Baraki Jones, of 101 Scott Hall, Greenville and charged them both with multiple drug felonies.

Thomas was charged with felony conspiracy to sell schedule II controlled substance, felony conspiracy to deliver schedule II controlled substance, felony maintaining a place for controlled substance, misdemeanor possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Jones was charged with felony sell and deliver schedule II controlled substance, possession with the intent to sell and deliver schedule II controlled substance, felony conspiracy to deliver schedule II controlled substance, felony conspiracy to sell schedule II controlled substance, felony maintaining a place for controlled substance, misdemeanor possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Both suspects were placed in the Edgecombe County Detention Center under a $5,000 secured bond.
