Two teenagers were arrested and charged with common law robbery and misdemeanor larceny after they attempted to rob a patron who had just left the Wal-Mart. The incident, which was reported by police on Thursday, occurred Friday, Dec. 14.
The teens — 17-year old Torrin Lamont Thomas, of 200 W. Hope Lodge St., Apt. 10, Tarboro and a 15-year old juvenile — stole two BB guns from inside the store, then followed their intended victim outside. Once outside, he was approached by the two suspects with the BB guns and told him to give them everything he had. The would-be victim said he told them "no" and got on his bicycle and rode away.
Both teens were arrested on Dec. 16 and, after being booked, were released to their parents.
