A teenager and three juveniles plot to take goods from a Maybelle Lane home was spoiled by a witness and Edgecombe County Sheriff deputies.
According to a news release by the Edgecombe County Sheriff's Department, Dentrez Thomas, 18, 126 Jackson Walk, Rocky Mount, and three juveniles were charged with two counts of breaking and entering, one count of breaking and entering of a motor vehicle and three counts of larceny after breaking and entering.
The deputies received a tip from a witness around 5:30 p.m. Monday that two males were seen suspiciously running into the woods behind the Maybelle Lane home. The witness described the suspects.
Upon investigations, the deputies found the suspects had broken into the home, another residence on the property and also a vehicle.
The suspects attempted to take a mini fridge, electric tools, two weed eaters and a baseball bat. All the items were recovered.
Quick investigative work led to the suspects arrested on Nobles Mill Pond Road which is located near the victim's home.
According to the news release all four suspects admitted their involvement.
Thomas was charged with two counts of Breaking and Entering, one count of Breaking and Entering of a Motor Vehicle and three counts of Larceny after Breaking and Entering. He was in Edgecombe County Detention Center under a $20,000 unsecure bond.
Knight said the juveniles will be charged with the same offenses
through a juvenile court system.
