Tarboro Town Council members face a brief agenda when they meet at 7 p.m. in the second floor council chambers at Town Hall Monday.
While there are only three action items on the agenda, council will also go into executive session pursuant to NCGSS 143-318.11.(a)(6), which could be for the discussion of the contract proposal pending before council from Brough Law Firm for legal services. Council member Candis Owens initially asked that the item be tabled.
Among the action items, the town will discuss the disposition of of three town-owned properties to Jamie Hathaway Pollard.
On Aug. 22, Pollard made an offer of $1,200 to purchase 115 Sorey Ave., a property on Office Street and a property on Memorial Avenue.
Planning direcor Josh Edmundson is recommending the acceptance of Pollard’s offer on Sorey Avenue subject to upset bid and to further discuss the other properties.
Council will also receive a recommendation to approve town participation in the Grant Façade Improvement Program, The program is designed to assist property owners and businesses along Main Street in the “renovation and preservtion of the unique historical character of Downton Tarboro.
