A Tarboro High School senior was hit with drug charges on campus three days before graduation.
According to Tarboro Police Sgt. Al Braxton, a teacher spotted Rasheen Travon Council, 18, 404 Lincoln Road,. Tarboro, engaged in suspicious activities. The teacher notified a police officer.
Upon the officer's investigation, he found Council was in possession of 29.4 grams of marijuana in small bags. Braxton said he doesn't know whether or not Council made a transaction at the school.
Council was charged with possession with intent to sell and deliver marijuana, felony possession of marijuana, sell/deliver controlled substance within 300 feet of a school, and possession of drug paraphernalia.He was placed in Edgecombe County Detention Center under a $150,000 bond.
Tarboro High School's graduation was Monday. Council's name was not on the school's program, nor was it called during the handling of the diplomas.
In an unrelated drug case, Aaron Robert Foreman 24, 5961 N.C. Highway 43, Pinetops, faces drug charges after a Tarboro Police Department traffic stop resulted in the discovery of 11 small bags of marijuana in his vehicle.
Foreman was charged with possession with intent to sell and deliver marijuana, maintaining a vehicle for the purpose of storing and selling a controlled substance, and possession of drug paraphernalia. Foreman was placed in Edgecombe County Detention Center under a $5,000 unsecured bond.
