Fifth arrest made in break-ins

TARBORO — Tarboro police made a fifth arrest in a rash of break-ins that occurred mainly in the Summerfield and Speight Forest communities during a five-day period last month.

Friday, police charged 19-year-old Kailyn Yates Abrams, of 10575 NC 111 N., Hobgood, with aid and abet larceny and obtaining money/property by false pretense for her role in the break-ins. Abrams turned herself into officials and was released on an unsecured bond.

According to reports, Abrams did not participate in the actual break-ins, but she was contacted by some of the suspects who did after the alleged crimes happened and allegedly took the stolen electronic items to Trade-It in Wilson County and sold them.

Police also arrested 19-year-old William Bullock Battle, 18-year-old Demondre Marquay Arrington, 19-year-old Christopher Ryan Lloyd, 17-year-old Jonathan Andrew Castillo and 19-year-old Arnold Alexander Castillo for their involvements in the break-ins.

Law enforcement has one more suspect they plan to make an arrest on, but haven't been able to do so yet.
