Princeville officer charged with cyberstalking, fired from post

TARBORO — A Princeville Police Department (PPD) officer was charged with cyberstalking for allegedly harassing a Nash County county woman.

According to reports, Sergeant Terry Greene, 40, of Tarboro, has been charged with a single count of cyberstalking.

A summons obtained from the Nash County Clerk of Court Office states that Greene annoyed and harassed the victim by phone over a four-day period from Feb. 1 through Feb. 4.

The summons doesn't specify whether Greene had any type of relationship with the victim. The Daily Southerner doesn't publish the names of victims.

Greene is due in Nash County District Court Feb. 27 to face the cyberstalking charge, which is a Class 2 misdemeanor.

According to Princeville Mayor Bobbie Jones, Greene was fired. Jones said he couldn't release any other details because it is a personnel issue. No date of termination was given by Jones.
