Four suspects have been charged in connection with a robbery that took place early Saturday morning in Tarboro on Preston Drive. Police determined through their investigation that the crime was possibly gang related, because of some of the evidence they found at one of the suspects' residence during a search.
Police were called to the Preston Drive residence around 12:45 a.m. after the victim had been pistol whipped by multiple suspects. The victim told police that the suspects got away with five guns that belonged to him.
While police were investigating, they got a break in the case when they received a disturbance call from Pender Square Apartments just around the corner from the scene. When police responded to that call, they found the suspect, Quayshawn Marquell Hagans, 22, of 1010 Panola St., Tarboro, that the victim had identified.
Police detained Hagans for questioning and he later told Det. Sgt. Bruce Edwards who the other suspects were that helped him.
As the investigation continued, law enforcement was able to detain two females, whose names weren't released by police, that were allegedly involved. During questioning, the females told Edwards what had unfolded.
