“Gimme another Tar Beer, please.”
That could be an increasingly popular phrase in six months or so if Stephen and Inez Ribustello’s plans to open Tarboro Brewing Company stay on track.
The Ribustellos (Inez is a native) moved to Tarboro from New York City following the Sept. 11 attacks to open On the Square. A few years ago, Stephen said the couple began looking at a microbrewery in the community where they and their two children call home.
The couple gave the Tarboro Rotary Club an update on their project Thursday and it was clear the excitement remains among the citizenry for the “kid friendly” microbrewery.
The couple, who have an extensive food and beverage (wine) background, are using their professional contacts and relationships to build a marketing footprint for their beer up and down the East Coast.
Inez said the proposition made to their prospects has been predicated on, “If we produce a quality product, would you be willing to sell it?”
