North Carolina Wesleyan ranks fourth in state for return on investment

ROCKY MOUNT — ROCKY MOUNT — North Carolina Wesleyan College ranks fourth in the state for return on investment (ROI) for its students receiving a bachelor's degree, according to a study released by Affordable Colleges Online. Wesleyan's ranking places the four-year Rocky Mount liberal arts college just behind Duke, Wake Forest, and North Carolina State and just ahead of the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill.

Wesleyan is the highest ranked-institution on undergraduate ROI among all colleges and universities in eastern North Carolina.

The study compares tuition and fees with graduates' earnings over their lifetimes. Statistics for the study came from the National Center for Education Statistics, the Integrated Post-Secondary Education Data System, the Carnegie Foundation, and

"When students select a college, one major concern usually is the cost of tuition compared with the likelihood of financial success after graduation," said Bill Allen, Wesleyan's vice president of enrollment management.  "I think Wesleyan's ranking in this study shows the true value of the North Carolina Wesleyan experience, which empowers our students to do great things."

Wesleyan President Jim Gray said, "We are delighted to get this recognition, having worked hard to deliver top-quality teaching while holding down our tuition and fees as much as possible. It is rare that we get ranked on par with or ahead of the larger schools in our state, so we're honored."

N.C. Wesleyan enrolls a total of approximately 1,500 students in its traditional day program in Rocky Mount and its adult student program, ASPIRE (Adult Student Programs: Innovative, Respected, Engaging), available in Rocky Mount and seven other locations in eastern North Carolina.
