22 suspects jailed on multiple drug charges

TARBORO — The Edgecombe County Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Task Force hit the streets this past week and rounded up 22 suspected drug dealers who had outstanding warrants against them for selling drugs in the county. The suspects are accused of selling drugs during the an undercover operation during the summer.

The Tarboro Police Department assisted during the controlled buys as well as during the roundup.

Arrested and charged with drug crimes were:

• Steven Edwards, 36, of 505 Pitt St., Pinetops, charged with four counts of sell schedule II, two counts of possession with the intent to sell and deliver schedule II and simple possession of schedule II. Jailed under a $15,000 secured bond.

• Carla Michelle Draughn, 29, of 310 Cobb St., Pinetops, charged with sell marijuana, possession with the intent to sell and deliver marijuana, sell controlled substance within 1,000 feet of school zone, misdemeanor child abuse and posses less than half-ounce of marijuana. Jailed under a $25,000 secured bond.

• Jonathan Eugene Bryant, 29, of 46 Timberview Lane, Tarboro, charged with possession with the intent to sell and deliver marijuana, sell marijuana and possession up to half-ounce of marijuana. Jailed under a $3,000 secured bond.

• Brandon Ross Spain, 26, of 2207 Robin Dr., Tarboro, charged with possession with the intent to sell and deliver schedule IV, sell schedule IV and conspire to sell schedule IV. Jailed under a $5,000 secured bond.

• Treyllan Rashun Hinton, 30, of 327 Faith Baptist Church Road, Pinetops, charged with conspire to sell cocaine and maintaining a dwelling for storage of drugs. Jailed under a $5,000 secured bond.

• Carlos Lamont Andrews, 37, of 202 Snowden St., Princeville, charged with selling marijuana, possession with the intent to sell and deliver marijuana and possession of up to half-ounce of marijuana. Jailed under a $5,000 secured bond.

• William Earl Daniels, 42, of 206 Ainsley Circle, Tarboro, charged with selling cocaine, possession with the intent to sell and deliver cocaine and felony possession of cocaine. Jailed under a $75,000 secured bond.

• Geddes Atlas Joyner, 52, of 208 E. Main St., Sharpsburg, charged with possession with the intent to sell and deliver schedule II, possession with the intent to sell and deliver schedule III, sell schedule II, sell schedule III, maintaining a dwelling for storage of controlled substances, simple possession of schedule II and simple possession of schedule III. Jailed under a $25,000 secured bond.

• Elvin Spragion, Jr., 62, of 10792 NC 33 NW, Whitakers, charged with conspiring to sell cocaine. Jailed under a $2,000 secured bond.

• Mary Elizabeth Tyson, 27, of Chapel St., Tarboro, charged with possession with the intent to sell and deliver marijuana, sell marijuana, possession of up to half-ounce of marijuana, sell controlled substance within 1,000 feet of school, sell controlled substance within 1,000 feet of park. Jailed under a $10,000 secured bond.

• Timothy Blair Wilkerson, 49, of 1701 Longview Ave., Tarboro, charged with two counts of sell schedule II, two counts of possession with the intent to sell and deliver schedule II and conspire to sell schedule II. Jailed under a $5,000 secured bond.

• Penny Olague, 41, of 1701 Longview Ave., Tarboro, charged with possession with the intent to sell and deliver schedule II, sell schedule II and conspire to sell schedule II. Jailed under a $5,000 secured bond.

• John Thomas Coley, 20, of 5344 Bulluck School Road, Rocky Mount, charged with possession with the intent to sell and deliver schedule III, sell schedule III and simple possession of schedule III. Jailed under a $5,000 secured bond.

• Audrey Anna Joyner, 44, of 1240 Powell Road, Rocky Mount, charged with manufacturing marijuana. Jailed under a $1,000 secured bond.

• Lefonsa Draughn, 45, of 614 Forest Acres Dr., Tarboro, charged with possession with the intent to sell and deliver cocaine, sell cocaine and felony possession of cocaine. Jailed under a $5,000 secured bond.

• Chris Turner, 24, of 2809 Deer Run Road, Rocky Mount, charged with possession with the intent to sell and deliver schedule I, sell schedule I and felony possession of heroin. Jailed under a $5,000 secured bond.

• Sandra Kay Wombles, 48, of 6752 US 258 S, Pinetops, charged with two counts of trafficking opiates, possession with the intent to sell and deliver schedule III, sell schedule III, simple possession of schedule III, dispense medication without a license. Jailed under a $15,000 secured bond.

• Alan Ray Andrews, 46, of 2261 Sherwood Ave., Tarboro, charged with possession with the intent to sell and deliver marijuana, sell marijuana and maintaining a dwelling for storage of controlled substances. Jailed under a $5,000 secured bond.

• Gregory Pettaway, 22, of 711 St. James St., Tarboro, charged with possession with the intent to sell and deliver marijuana, sell marijuana and possession of up to a half-ounce of marijuana. Jailed under a $5,000 secured bond.

• Raymond Earl Davis, 38, of 1728 Cokey Road, Rocky Mount, charged with two counts of possession with the intent to sell and deliver marijuana, two counts of selling marijuana, two counts of maintaing a dwelling to store controlled substances and possession of marijuana up to a half-ounce. Jailed under a $5,000 secured bond.

• Alcindor Marcellais Warlick, 23, of 1334 Eastern Ave., Rocky Mount, charged with two counts of possession with the intent to sell and deliver schedule II, two counts of selling schedule II, two counts of simple possession of schedule II and two counts of maintaining a dwelling to store controlled substances. Jailed under a $10,000 secured bond.

• Derrick Lamont Hannon, 23, of 304 Edwards Fork Road, Scotland Neck, charged with conspire to sell and deliver heroin and maintaining a vehicle/dwelling to store controlled substances. Jailed under a $5,000 secured bond.

Sheriff James Knight said he would like to thank the citizens whose complaints and information led to the start of the investigations which culminated in the arrests this past week.

Knight said he wants to continue to work to keep the county drug free and urges all citizens who have complaints on possible drug activity to contact the sheriff’s office at 641-7911 to report any potential criminal behavior.
