Former Edgecombe County resident Monty Jones Jr. earns Venues Today Generation Next Award

Augusta, Ga. — Augusta, Ga. — Global Spectrum and Augusta Entertainment Complex are proud to announce that General Manager, Monty Jones Jr., has been recognized by Venues Today Magazine for winning the Generation Next Award for excellence and creativity in the entertainment industry.  In addition, Jones was awarded the Social Butterfly Award by the fans of Venues Today Magazine through Facebook.

The annual award honors young professionals who stand out in the entertainment industry. The award highlights the efforts of leaders under the age of 35 who make a difference in the sports, music, conventions, family shows, fairs and festivals. Jones is one of only five selected to win this award out of a group of twenty-eight international professionals. Jones and the other Generation Next Award winners including fellow Global Spectrum General Manager Jason Blumenfeld, will be profiled in the June issue of the magazine.  

“I am extremely honored to be chosen as the recipient of such a prestigious award within our industry,” says Global Spectrum’s Monty Jones Jr. “I would not have been able to do it without the support that everyone has provided along the way.”

Jones, Jr. was born in Guam and raised in Princeville/Tarboro, NC.  He received his Bachelor of Science in Parks, Recreation and Tourism Management from North Carolina State University.  

He has been a General Manager since 2007 and has not only brought major events to every market he has been a part of, but has also initiated Global Spectrum’s STEP UP green initiative

program. This program has brought many positive changes to the Augusta Entertainment Complex that has helped to decrease the overall ecologic footprint.
