Three arrested in drug bust

Narcotics detectives with the Edgecombe County Sheriff's Office arrested three people in a drug bust Friday on Stallings Road in Macclesfield, the sheriff reported Monday.

Five grams of crack cocaine, less than half an ounce of marijuana and less than a gram of powdered cocaine were seized, along with drug paraphernalia and more than $900 in cash, reports said.

Detectives also discovered an illegal numbers operation was run from the home.

"I'd like to thank the citizens for their involvement in trying to keep their communities safe and drug free," said Edgecombe County Sheriff James Knight. "It takes a collaborative effort from all of us."

Ann Doris Clark, 54, of Macclesfield was charged with felony maintaining a dwelling for the sale of crack cocaine, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of less than half an ounce of marijuana and possession of illegal lottery tickets. She is being held at the Edgecombe County Detention Center on $10,000 bond.

Larry Donnell Hines, 54, of the same address in Macclesfield, was charged with possession with the intent to distribute crack cocaine and also is being held at the Edgecombe County Detention Center on $10,000 bond.

Milton Winstead, 22, of Macclesfield, was charged with felony possession of cocaine and is being held at the Edgecombe County Detention Center on $2,500 bond.
