Colby Griffin appeared to be a little nervous when he was introduced to the Edgecombe County Commissioners by Edgecombe County Extension Agent Art Bradley as the county's newest extension agent last week during the board's regularly scheduled meeting. However, there was not too many things that could have made him happier than the introduction.
After working in Raleigh and New Bern for several years, Griffin said during an interview at his office on Thursday that, "I'm glad to be back in the Twin Counties.
The 26-year-old North Carolina State graduate grew up in Red Oak, a town located five miles from Rocky Mount, that is surrounded by farmland. As a teenager the plentiful farms near his home perhaps made it easy for him to land a job — and he did. Little did he know that job would turn into his passion.
