Ceremony Wednesday at Veterans Memorial

FROM STAFF REPORTS

Veterans Day will be acknowledged Wednesday with a ceremony at the Veterans Memorial on the Tarboro Town Common.

The 11 a.m. ceremony has been sponsored by the Pilot Club of Tarboro for more than 30 years.

Pilot Club President Sue Wage will give the welcome. Carolyn Worden will give the invocation and benediction. The Pilot Club’s Gladys Shelton will lead the Pledge of Allegiance.

Veterans of each branch of the armed forces will be recognized as their service flag is raised. Veterans of each era also will be recognized. The Tarboro High School Junior Air Force ROTC will handle flag duties.

Pilot Club members will place a memorial wreath, said Marcia Cherry, program chairwoman.
