Postal workers collect 1,150 pounds of food for Commuity Outreach

Tarboro Postal Service mail carriers gathered approximately 1,150 pounds of non-perishable goods Saturday in their 15th annual "Stamp Out Hunger" drive that will benefit Tarboro Community Outreach.

"We gathered about the same amount that we did last year," said Postmaster Sam Flythe, "and some food is still trickling in."

Flythe said eight mail carriers participated in the event.

The mail carriers volunteered to gather the food in participation with the National Association of Letter Carriers.
