Whitley/Webb

TARBORO — Pinetops-Caitlin Layne Whitley and John Robert Webb were married on June 8, 2013 at half past three in the afternoon at Pinetops Baptist Church.

The Reverend John Melancon performed the ceremony. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William Michael Whitley. Grandparents of the bride are the late Mr. and Mrs. James Carlton Jernigan and the late Mr. and Mrs. Clifton Lane Whitley.

The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Jeffery Louis Webb. Grandparents of the groom are Mr. Robert Ernest Dupree and the late Sue Dew Dupree, Ms. Linda Denny, and the late Joe Campbell Webb.  Great grandparent of the groom is Mrs. Nannie Denny.

The bride was escorted to the altar by her father and given in marriage by her parents. The bride wore her mother’s wedding gown.

Bobbi Jo Walston of Tarboro, friend of the bride, served as her maid of honor. Honorary Bridesmaids were Heather Mills Abrams of Macclesfield, Mallori Lewis Anderson, Kelsey Cross Dew and Sara Ann Hunter all of Tarboro, and Meredith Duke Mobley of Washington.

Flower girl was Katherine Whitley Ragsdale, cousin of the bride.

The best man was Jeffery Louis Webb, father of the groom. Groomsman was Cameron Louis Webb, brother of the groom.

Ushers were Jeffrey Kyle Abrams of Macclesfield, Samuel Jenkins Anderson III, Chad Louis Denny and Travis Frederick Dew all of Tarboro, and Aaron Michael Mobley of Washington.

Ring bearer was Seborn Wrenn Ragsdale, cousin of the bride.

Program Attendants and Guest Book Attendants were Taylor Brooke Webb and William Robert Dupree, cousins of the groom.  

Music was provided by pianist, Mrs. Robin Farmer.  Soloists were Kaitlyn Flythe and Christopher Wall.

A reception was held immediately following the wedding at the church.  

Following a wedding trip to St. Lucia, the couple will reside in Tarboro.

The bride graduated from Hobgood Academy and Martin Community College. She is employed by Edgecombe County Public Schools.

The groom graduated from Tarboro High School, Pitt Community College and Edgecombe Community College. He is employed by Chem Nut Seed and United States Postal Service.

In December, a Christmas China Party was hosted by family and friends at the home of Mrs. Crystal Taylor.  

In March, a bridal shower was hosted by family and friends at the home of Mrs. Jane Caison.    

An Engagement Party was hosted at the Maccripine Country Club by family and friends.

On June 7, a Bridesmaid Luncheon was given by Jennifer Edmondson, Jenny Ragsdale and Melody Whitley at the home of Melody Whitley.   

The groom’s parents hosted a rehearsal dinner at the Maccripine Country Club on the eve of the wedding. A dance hosted by family and friends was immediately following the dinner.
