The story published in Jan. 8 edition of The Daily Southerner about an owner dying her poodle pink to raise funds for surgery for her lame cocker terrier touched the heart of Tarboro resident Paula Mozingo.
She wants to help.
Mozingo is organizing a yard sale with all proceeds going towards the 10-year-old-cocker terrier's much-needed $3,200 spinal surgery.
But Mozingo can't do it alone. She is asking the public to donate items that will be sold at a yard sale. Her goal is to raise at least $2,000. If the cocker terrier doesn't have the surgery, he will have to be put to sleep.
"I'm a big animal lover and I want to help so that this dog will not be put to sleep," Mozingo said. "Plus, I enjoy making a difference in someone else's life. When do something to help someone, it's very rewarding for me."
