Amber Reneé Blanchard and Asa Carlton Godowns II, both of Beaufort, S.C., are pleased to announce their engagement.

Amber is the daughter of Steve and Baynette Blanchard, of Gastonia, N.C. formerly of Tarboro.

Asa is the son of William and Fran Mixon, of Beaufort, S.C., and the late Asa Godowns. He is the stepson of Connie Godowns, also of Beaufort.

A wedding is planned for 6:30 p.m. Oct. 13 at Henry C. Chambers Waterfront Park in Beaufort.
