ROCKY MOUNT —
To The Editor:
It breaks my heart to learn that our state senator may lose his home. It is especially sad as the taxpayers of NC have just finished building a $10 million bridge so that he does not have to suffer the indignity of driving through Princeville to get home. I can not but wonder if his “core constituency” of voters know that he lives in a plantation house, as described by his real estate broker (Simpson Underwood of Raleigh)?
If I may continue, it is typical of the State Democratic Party to appoint someone to a financial committee that can not even make their house payments on time!
(EDITOR’S NOTE: Committee appointments are made by the President Pro Tempore of the Senate, not the respective political party. Sen. Phil Berger (R-Dist. 28) currently holds that position.)
