Downeast Animal Refuge Seafood Fundraiser

Disaster Preparedness


Marvin Daugherty, meteorologist from WITN TV, will be at the E.L. Roberson Center at 10:30 a.m. He will talk about the upcoming hurricane season, typical weather patterns for this area, and how to best prepare for any kind of disaster.

Gift Bingo


The Happy Senior Citizens Club will be sponsoring gift bingo on the 1st and 3rd Thursday of each month from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the E.L. Roberson Center.



Edgecombe Arts presents 2nd Annual Bluegrass Festival

10 a.m.-6 p.m., Gates Open at 9 a.m., Indian Lake Park. Tickets $20/person, ages 12 & under free. Tickets available now! Pick up at Edgecombe Chamber of Commerce or buy at the gate on date of event.

Braswell Memorial Library Benefit Bank of North Carolina

The Benefit Bank is a web-based service that helps individuals & families apply for state and federal benefits. (Medicare, Medicaid, Voter Registration, Scholarships, etc.) Volunteers from S.W.I.. (Single Women in Mission) will be here to assist patrons with The Benefit Bank-NC every Monday and Wednesday in the computer lab from 6:30pm-7:30pm.



2013 Midget Tackle Football

Registeration is July 1-August 2, 2013. Registration forms will ONLY be accepted at Braswell Center, 1501 Western Blvd. Players must be 7yrs of age by Aug. 5 and cannot turn 13yrs of age before Dec. 1.  All players must have a copied birth certificate when registering. “The Prom Closet”


Organizers are asking for new and gently used dresses, tuxedos, tuxedo pants, tux shirts, tux ties,  studs, and cummerbunds, handbags, jewelry, hair accessories and anything else and young man or woman may need for the prom.
