TARBORO — Edgecombe Events should be submitted by noon THREE days before the activity. Items eligible include notices of local meetings and activities of non-profit organizations, clubs, schools and civic groups. Commercial businesses are not eligible to list events in Edgecombe Events and will not be acknowledged.

NARFE to meet

The National Active and Retired Federal Employees Association, Rocky Mount chapter, will meet Tuesday, Dec. 10 at 12:15 p.m. at the Holiday Inn on Enterprise Drive. A Christmas luncheon, fun, games, prizes and installation of nextt year’s officers will take place. For details, call 823-2404.

Youth Council to meet

The Braswell Center Youth Council for ages 12-18 will meet, Wednesday, Dec. 11 at 5 p.m. to talk and express what is on their minds. For details, call 641-4210.

The 37th annual Farm-City Breakfast will be held at 7:30 a.m. at the East Carolina Agriculture & Education Center, 1175 Kingsboro Road. There is no charge for farmers to attend. For more information, call 823-7241.

‘A Christmas Story’

The Tar River Players present the holiday classic “A Christmas Story” at 8 p.m. in McIntyre Auditorium at Edgecombe Community College. Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for students, seniors and groups of 10 or more.

The Nutcracker at 7 p.m., featuring local student performers at ECC Keihin Auditorium. Advance Tickets are $8 before 12/12 and $10 at the door.
