PNC  Presents Lawn Chair Theatre

Returning to the lawn of the Imperial Centre on Fri. Come out for family friendly movies, starting with “The Odd Life of Timothy Green.” Movies begin at sundown and will take place every other Friday through Aug. 16, 2013. For more info, call 252-972-1266.

ECC Wine Appreciation

Tasting Tuesdays, a three-week class focusing on wine, held on the Tarboro campus of Edgecombe Community College. Class meets Tues. 6:30-9PM in Fleming 152. Taking a Closer Look at “The Lion King” Performance, Down East Performing Arts, Inc.

The Lion King is a story of love and redemption that nobody should miss! this This performance is a lively stage adaption of the Academy Award winning 1994 film and will take place at O.I.C. Auditorium, 402 E. Virginia Avenue, Rocky Mount, NC at 11am. Guest appearances from local dance group and talent shown throughut the play. So come join us and celebrate our own local actors and actresses. Admission is $5 at the door.

Day Trip to Beaufort

The E.L. Roberson Center is hosting a day trip to Beaufort. Leaving on a charter bus at 8AM (Friday). Will tour the NC Maritime Museum and elsewhere. At 12:30 we will board the Crystal Coast Lady for the Shackleford Wild Pony and Dolphin Tour, with lunch aboard the boat. Cost for the trip is $80. A deposit of $40 is due at registration with the balance due by June 10th. We need  23 people to make this trip happen! For more info call 641-4263.

Tar River Republican Women’s Club

Will meet at 6:30pm in the Pender Room of the Tarboro Library. Karen Wright Fairley and another speaker from Florida will be the guests speaking on the Common Core Curriculum that is being taught in our public schools. Please come and bring a friend to hear this important that affects all our children.

4-H Fishing for Fun Clinic

From 8:30AM-2:30PM at Indian Lake in Tarboro. This clinic is for youth ages 5-10. The fee is $10 per youth. A NC wildlife officer will be in attendance and speaking to all youth about fishing safety. Youth will learn how to use a rod and reel, how to bait a hook, types of baits to use & much more! Must be regisitered to attend this event. Summer Reading Program Kickoff

Our kickoff this year will be held at Edgecombe Community College in the McIntyre Auditorium. Registration will begin at 9:30am and our performer will begin at 10am. Our performer this year is Mad Science.


Movie on the Common:

The Amazing Spider-Man

Movie begins at dusk (around 8:45pm). Bring blanket or lawn chair to enjoy a family fun night under the stars. Concession stand will be available to purchase movie treats such as popcorn and drinks. Movie rated PG-13.

Autumn Morningsta

Native American fluist, storyteller, magician, and musician, Autumn Morningstar, will be joining us for a very special program. Please try to arrive at 9:30am SHARP to be seated and plan to stay for one hour. At the performer’s request the doors will not open after 10am.
