TARBORO — Edgecombe Events should be submitted by noon the day before publication. Items eligible include notices of local meetings and activities of non-profit organizations, clubs, schools and civic groups in the community. Reading Alive! Book Club

The Reading Alive! Book Club will meet in the Pender Room at the Edgecombe County Memorial Library at 10:30am. Participants will discuss the book: All Over But the Shoutin’ by Rick Bragg.

Golden K Meeting

The Golden Kiwanis Club of Tarboro will hold its regular meeting at 9:30AM in the meeting room of E.L. Roberson Center. The speaker for this  meeting will be Dr. Brian Lankford from the Eye Care Center.

Micajah Pettaway Chapter


The Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR), will meet in the Warner room at Braswell Memorial Library for coffee at 10:30am. The program will be “Installation of Officers”.

Will be sponsoring gift bingo on the 1st and 3rd  thursday of each month from 7-9pm at the E.L. Roberson Center.

Juvenile Crime Prevention

The Edgecombe and Nash Councils meet at 9am at the East Carolina Ag & Education Center in Rocky Mt., The Public is invited to attend.

Volunteer Crisis

Call Training


At My Sister’s House from May 20-June 13. This is a 40 hour training course from 5:30-8:30pm, Monday-Thursday. We are looking for volunteers. Call 252-462-0366.
