Under the Stars Prom Night


Area prom night for special citizens 16 and over   will be held at the Imperial Centre from 7-10:30PM. The prom night theme is Under the Stars a Black & White affair. Attendees and their guests should RSVP by Wednesday, May 7 by calling 252-972-1151.

Queen For A Day


To show some Love on Mother’s Day weekend, The Tarboro Parks & Recreation Dept. will feed and pamper the ladies. At 9:30am Ladies will be served Breakfast with scrambled eggs, grits, sausage, bacon, pancakes, toast, biscuits, coffee, and orange juice, $3 per person. Bring your Grandmother, Mother, Aunt, Cousin,  next door neighbor, church member young and old. MEN, MEN, MEN if you would like to help  in any way please call 641-4210. Quigless Clinic Tours

The historic Quigless Clinic, at 99 Main St., Tarboro, will be open to the public for tour from 12 noon-2PM. Conducted by the Phoenix Historical Society, Inc.

Local author, Monika Fleming, will be signing copies of Legendary Locals of Edgecombe & Nash Counties at Book Trader in Rocky Mount on Monday, May 13th from 5:00 - 7:00 pm.

The National Active and retired Federal Employees (NARFE) Association, Rocky Mount Chapter 0781 will meet at 12:30pm, at Gardner’sBBQ Restaurant. ECC Election Officials Certification

A three-week Election Process and Precinct Officials Certification class begins on the Tarboro campus of Edgecombe Community College. Class meets Tues/Thurs 6-9PM in Fleming 218. Fee is $65, includes materials. Offered by Edgecombe County Board of Elections and ECC. Instructor is Jerry Spruell, director of Edgecombe County Board of Elections. Junior Football Camp

Tarboro Vikings are hosting a junior camp May 14-16 for grades 6-8 from 6-8:15PM. Cost is $15 for first kid and $10 for second kid.

School Reunion


Phillips/Bricks Alumni Association will hold its 35th annual school reunion. All graduates, attendees, former teachers and friends of Phillip High School and Bricks School are urged to attend. Ticket are $75 per person for all of the weekend activities, Friday-Sunday or $40 for just one event. Events include Friday night Meet and Greet Fellowship, Saturday night Scholarship Banquet, Saturday morning Business meeting/Breakfast and Sunday Church worship/Lunch. Proceeds go toward our annual scholarship fund. Day Trip to Beaufort

The E.L. Roberson Center is hosting a day trip to Beaufort on Friday, June  14th. Leaving on a chrter bus at 8:00AM. Will tour the NC Maritime Museum and elsewhere. At 12:30 we will board the Crystal Coast Lady for the Shackleford Wild Pony and Dolphin Tour, with lunch aboard the boat. Cost of trip is $80.
