TARBORO — Edgecombe Events should be submitted by noon the day before publication. Items eligible include notices of local meetings and activities of non-profit organizations, clubs, schools and civic groups in the community. JUNE 14 - JUNE 21

Swim Lessons: Ages 4-15 Two week swimming lessons Mon.-Fri. where children will be taught basic swimming skills for all levels. Class I: 10-10:45am. Class II: 11-11:45am. Cost is $25. Swim Lessons will be at the Commuinty Pool.


Grant Seeking

Drum Circle

Begins at 6:30pm at Saint Anne’s Chapel  and Event Center, corner of Howard Ave. and McNair Rd. Loaner drums are available. No experience necessary. Donations accepted. 252-904-2022.

A Big Gospel Fundraiser

FREE Admission. There will be a free will offering. Please come to support! Shirley McNeil & The Gospel Singers of Faith, Hattie Hopkins & The Hopkins Gospel Singers, First Step Gospel Singers, and St. Paul Baptist Church Male Chorus will all be there! 4pm at Saint Paul Missionary Baptist Church, 900 Lloyd St., Tarboro, NC.

At 5pm at Saint Anne’s Chapel and Event Center. Lead by Joann Czar. Donations accepted.



CPR Training

CPR for Healthcare Providers meets on the Rocky Mt. campus. Class meets 6-10pm in room 247. Fee is $65. Registration is required. Call 823-5166, ext. 120 or 293.

Tar River Republican Women’s Club

Will meet at 6:30pm in the Pender Room of the Tarboro Library. Karen Wright Fairley and another speaker from Florida will be the guests speaking on the Common Core Curriculum that is being taught in our public schools. Please come and bring a friend to hear this important that affects all our children.
