Edgecombe/Nash Juvenile Prevention Councils meet at 9 a.m. at the East Carolina Ag & Educations Center on Kingsboro Road. Meetings are open to the public.

Friends Of the Library Fundraiser

Edgecombe County Memorial Library’s Friends of the Library proudly presents, an Evening of Mystery & Imagination; a wine and cheese social to velebrate the literature of the fantasitc. This will feature a live performance of H.P. Lovecrat’s classic story; The Picture in the House. Admission is 10 per person. Tickets are availabe at the library.



OCTOBER 19

The Edgecombe County Veterans Museum (ECVM) is sponsoring an Open Car & Truck, Motorcycle & Tractor Show from 8 a.m. until 3 p.m.at 106 Church Street.  The Car Show is being hosted by the Heaven Bound Custom Car Club of Tarboro.  This car show  is a fund raiser in support of the ECVM.  The Tarboro High School AFJROTC will present flag honors at noon.  The Tarboro Police K-9 force will provide a police dog demonstration at 1 PM.  Please come out and support those that served to maintain our freedom.  Contact Ellis Cullifer, 883-4856 or Jamie Warren, 883-3722 for more info.

The Democratic Women of Edgecombe County will meet in Braswell Memorial Library, 6:00-7:30 pm.  Tarboro mayoral candidate Donnie Hale is the speaker.  The public is invited.

The Golden Kiwanis of Tarboro will meet at 9:30 a.m. at E. L. Robertson Center. Glenn Daughtrigue will present a program on motivation.

Wine, Design, & Create...For the Cause!

The Edgecombe County Cultural Arts Council is hosting a 'Wine, Design, & Create...For the Cause' event in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Join us at 5:30pm at the Blount Bridgers House and bring a bra (preferably padded) and your creativity and we will supply the paint, supplies and more! A portion of the proceeds will benefit the Edgecombe Cancer Support Foundation. Cost is $30 for Arts Council Members and $40 for Non-members. Registration is required and space is limited. AARP Senior Fun Festival will be held from 2-5 p.m. at E.L. Roberson Center. There will be vendors, games, arts and crafts exhibits and light refreshments. All seniors 55 and over are invited. Call 641-4263 for more info.

Rabies Vaccination Clinic

State Law requires all dogs, cats, and ferrets 4 months of age and older to be vaccinated against rabies and wear proper collar and rabies tag. 9 a.m.-12 p.m. at the Tarboro Animal Clinic.



Health and Wellness Fair

Free, community-wide event for men and women at Vidant Edgecombe Hospital

from 8am - 12pm. Event will include clinical breast exams for women and

prostate exams for men, as well as other health information and screenings.

Clinical breast exams will be offered on first-come basis. Gentlemen must
