Book Club


Will meet in the Pender Room at the Edgecombe County Memorial Library at 9:45am. Participants will discuss the book: Mrs. Kennedy and Me by Clint Hill. At 10:15am they will view the movie version of the book: Breathing Lessons by Anne Tyler.

Special Olympic

At Southwest Edgecombe High School Athletic Facilities at 10am. Student athletes representing several elementary, middle and high schools in the Conty will participate in 10to 12 events. Rain date will be 19th or 25th.



Juvenile Crime Prevention

The Edgecombe and Nash County Juvenile Crime Prevention will meet at 9am at the East Carolina Ag & Education Center in Rocky Mt.,  The Public is invited to attend.

Day Trip

The E. L. Roberson Center will be hosting a trip to Raleigh. We will leave at 8:30am to tour the Legislative Bldg., Titanic Exhibit, and Museum of Science. You will need to pack a lunch for the day.  Cost is $15. Have to be at least 55 yrs. old. For more information call 641-4263.

Kidz Day


Join us for a fun-filled day for kids and parents alike! From 10am-1pm at the Vidant Edgecombe Hospital in Tarboro. Parents will learn about gun and fire safety as well as how to keep your child healthy. Children will meet Spiderman, jump in bouncers, enjoy snacks and tour police cars, a firetruck and rescue squad! Event is FREE and open to the public.

   This study is geared toward helping African-American women and communities in eastern NC to improve diabetes outcomes.
